The exhibition “The Life and Work of Pavel Bazhov” is based on the modern collection of the memorial museum of the Ural writer, formed in 1968.
The interior of the house is preserved almost exactly as it was during the life of the author of the famous tales. The office, also known as the bedroom of the Bazhovs, the dining room and at the same time the family living room, the corridor with the standing desk behind which Pavel Petrovich wrote his works — everything is left unchanged.
In the late 1980s, the nursery — the bedroom of the Bazhovs’ youngest daughter Ariadna — was recreated in the south-facing room.
In 2013, the north-facing room was converted for lectures and events for museum’s guests, it also houses part of the permanent exhibition — a showcase with personal belongings and books of Pavel Petrovich.
These particularly valuable exhibits include Bazhov’s glasses and pipe, the first edition of the collection “The Malachite Casket”, numerous gifts from friends and fans, and even flower seeds planted by the writer himself.
