The exhibition presents various underwater archaeological finds, raised from the bottom of the Black Sea: fragments of amphorae of the 10th–13th centuries, dishware of the 13th century produced in the Byzantine Empire, crosses, votive anchors of the 14th–15th centuries, and a fragment of a pithos wall with graffiti of the 10th–13th centuries.
The exhibition also displays a diving suit of the early 20th century, anchors and a reconstruction of the cargo hold of a medieval sailing ship with the diorama of the cargo.
Most of the presented finds were raised from the bottom of Sudak Bay near the coast of the Novy Svet settlement. They come from a shipwreck that happened in the last third of the 13th century. Archaeologists believe that it was a Pisan trading galley mentioned in written sources. Today, it is the only medieval wrecksite in the Black Sea Region with a large cargo of glazed dishware, where archaeological excavations are still carried out.
