The exposition of the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan tells a story about the history of this region, the peoples who live here and their culture.
Presented here are paleontological exhibits — the remains of million year old prehistoric animals and fossils, archaeological finds, natural science collections as well as household and sacred objects of the peoples of Bashkiria.
The museum houses one of the largest numismatic collections in Russia, which numbers more than 16,000 copies. Amongst the exhibits you can also see a saber, which according to legend belonged to the national hero of Bashkortostan, Salavat Yulaev.
