The first section introduces visitors into the history of Muslim civilization in the Volga region — Volga Bulgaria, the Golden Horde and the Kazan Khanate.
The second section provides information on the development of Islamic culture from the Era of Reforms to the present day.
The third section demonstrates book associated traditions of the Tatar people.
In addition to archeological finds, religious books, household items, historical and cultural artefacts, the museum presents multimedia exhibits. Visitors are invited to participate in a collective reading of the Interactive Quran and get acquainted with the Quran that Turns its Pages, which is the famous Kazan publication of the Sacred Book. The display includes a 3D restoration of the Kazan Kremlin from the 15th to 21st centuries and a computer-aided projection of a Lesson at Madrasah.
