The life and creative work of Fyodor Reshetnikov are displayed in the context of history and culture, which is conveyed through books, manuscript fragments, photos, and letters to the 19th-century writers. Reshetnikov was born into a family of a postman. Some of his works focus on postal workers. The historical and household parts of the museum are displayed in the postal courtyard with a stale, carriage house, smithy, and coachmen’s quarters. This part embodies the realities of Reshetnikov’s creative world. In the museum, you will find the mailman uniform, one of the first shaft bow bells in Russia, a tarantass and other artifacts reminding of Reshetnikov’s creative work and the postal history of the house.
