The exhibition features pictures and documents telling about the life and work of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. The museum guests discover Chekhov’s biography step by step, learning about various periods of his life and work. Childhood in Taganrog, moving to Moscow, constructing his own house in Yalta. Medical practice, literature, theatre, personal life — communication with friends and relatives. Display panels with unique archive pictures, documents, quotations from the letters and writings help get an idea of Chekhov’s life and learn many interesting facts.
The exhibition is housed at the famous Chekhov’s “White Dacha” in Yalta, constructed to the design of the architect Leo Shapovalov. Chekhov lived there for five years, there he wrote “Three Sisters”, “The Cherry Orchard”, “The Lady with the Dog”, famous men of letters, artists, composers, actors came there to see the writer.
