The first part of the exhibition “Kalashnikov. The Trajectory of Fate” describes gun designing as a part of the international technical culture and presents samples of small arms created in Izhevsk over the last 200 years.
The interactive section dedicated to Kalashnikov’s childhood offers the visitors to solve math problems from textbooks of the 1920s — 1930s, disassemble and assemble simple mechanisms. The second section tells about the front-line fate of the gun designer. The “Academy” section is dedicated to Kalashnikov’s first projects.
In the “Legend of Izhmash” section, the visitors will get a chance to learn about the life of a closed defense enterprise. It contains personal belongings of workers, technologists, and gun designers of “Izhmash”. In addition, the museum has recreated a corner of the Kalashnikovs’ apartment with furniture, household items, photographs, and personal belongings of the family members.
