The “Peter the Great”s Siberian City” exhibition of the Omsk Museum of History and Regional Studies consists of three parts.
The first hall of the Omsk Museum of History and Regional Studies tells the story of the Russian exploration of Siberia and the creation of the Omsk fortress. The visitors will learn about Yermak’s conquest of Siberia, see the decrees signed by Peter the Great, the models of Tara and Omsk fortresses, historical weapons, and the only banner of the pre-Peter times preserved in Russia.
The second hall is dedicated to the region’s history from Mikhail Speransky’s reforms to the beginning of World War I. It displays the original everyday objects of the 19th century.
The third hall tells about the 20th-21st centuries, the cultural and social life of the region.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
