The April 2007 debut of a new permanent exhibition entitled the ‘House of 20th Century Russian Literature’ was a major event in the cultural life of Saratov and the entire Lower Volga Region. At present, it is the only exhibition in Russia to fully reflect the literary process of the 20th century and objectively represent the work of Konstantin Fedin, an outstanding Russian Soviet writer.
House of Russian Literature of the 20th Century exhibition is an attempt to come to some understanding of how a new literature could be born out of the 20th century, an era of global, sometimes catastrophic change and the destruction of centuries-old principles and values.
