The permanent exhibition of the Dagestan museum features over 14.000 artifacts, among which, the paintings by Russian artists of the 19th century: Karl Brullov, Isaak Levitan, Victor Vasnetsov, and also by the representatives of Art Nouveau and Russian avant-garde: Leon Bakst, Alexander Rodchenko and some others. Here in Mahachkala, you can also see works of art created at the request of Russian tsar Alexander III for the Temple of Glory museum in Tiflis (the modern Tbilisi).
