Yalutorovsk has unofficially been dubbed the ‘city of Decembrists’. Here in the years between 1829-1856 the Decembrists Matvey Muravyov-Apostol, Ivan Pushchin, VasIly Tiesenahausen, Yevgeny Obolensky and many others, were in the settlement. The museum proposes that you get acquainted with the exhibits dedicated to this time period: see antique furniture, household items, weapons, writing instruments, and accessories considered fashionable at that time. You will also encounter portraits of the house’s inhabitants in the 19th century, which today houses an exhibit: the spouses of the Muravyov-Apostol and their pupils, Anna Borodinskaya and Augusta Sozonovich. Among the exhibits there is also a letter that the Decembrist wrote to his descendants, which was kept in its hiding place in the Muravyov-Apostol house for nearly 100 years.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
