The exhibition is dedicated to the outstanding musician of the late 19th — first half of the 20th century, concert pianist, composer, teacher, public figure, and founder of the Russian piano school Alexander Borisovich Goldenweiser.
The interiors of the memorial part of the museum — an office, a music hall, and a dining room — illustrate the cultural and social life of Moscow since the 1880s. The museum displays unique items: a gateleg dining table, a grandfather clock, mahogany furniture, a skeleton clock, photographs of artists with dedicatory inscriptions, as well as paintings and sculptures. One of the main jewels of the museum is the grand pianos of the German company Bechstein, which remember the touch of the hands of Rachmaninoff, Medtner, Scriabin and many other outstanding musicians. The theme of friendship between Alexander Goldenweiser and Leo Tolstoy, who were connected not only by love for music, but also by a certain spiritual closeness, is present throughout the entire exhibition.
