Living work from a multi-coloured paper

The handbook was developed for the classroom use in order to improve understanding and memorizing of school subjects. A.F. Andronov left a detailed rationale describing the effectiveness of his method. While cutting out coloured paper fragments of the object they studied, children managed to perceive it, memorize its shape, size, the ratio of its parts to the whole through their movements. By collecting and sticking the fragments on a piece of cardboard, students assembled the object, and then they could decorate the class with their own works.

Four editions were published based on this method: the first experience, botany, zoology, and introduction to geography.

The first experience provides the basics of visual perception: an understanding of simple shapes, colours, ratios, composition, and rhythm. Without this experience, it is difficult to move on to the following sections.

The drawings of all the tables do not just serve to illustrate a phenomenon, but are highly artistic. Even though it was a textbook, the quality of the artwork was not secondary, since according to this method, it was the artwork that was supposed to have an impact on children.

In each issue, there is a preface by the author, which not only explains the scale at which it is better to enlarge the sample, but also gives the recipe for flour-based glue and the exact requirements for paper and cardboard.
