24 августа 1977 года в Хабаровске состоялись торжественные проводы отряда «Хабаровский комсомолец». Отряд в составе 200 человек (из них 125 комсомольцев) стал первым подразделением строительно-монтажного поезда «ХабаровсктрансстройБАМ», созданного для сооружения станции Байкало-Амурской магистрали Сулук. Здание вокзала было открыто в 1984 году.
