Families carrying the coffins of the missing persons on their way to the cemetery.
The remains of those who went missing 25 years ago during the internal conflict in Peru were found in a mass grave in Putis, the community of the region of Ayacucho. Their family members and neighbors took part in the burial ceremony. On 19 August 2009, families received official death certificates. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) helped with the funeral and provided psychological support needed in such situations.
