This camera is considered one of the most advanced ones produced in the USSR for free sale. Every self-respecting collector considers it necessary to have such a camera on their shelf. What is so interesting about ‘Leningrad’ with a conventional rangefinder and threaded interchangeable optics?

At the time of its release in 1956, the camera was equipped with what is now called a spring winder. This means that the mechanism, after winding up a strong spring, could independently cock the shutter and stretch the film at a speed of 3 frames per second. The German Robot could do it back in the thirties, but Soviet cameras still could not! Besides, ‘Robots’ were the simplest scale square-framed cameras, but ‘Leningrad’ could well be considered a full-fledged professional camera in those years.

The viewfinder was also quite good: illuminated frames for three interchangeable lenses with focal lengths of 50, 85 and 135 mm were visible in its field of view, and the outer border of the visible field corresponded to a 35mm wide angle lens.
