‘Kodak #5 Cartridge’ camera was produced by American company Eastman Kodak from 1898 to 1907. This is a multipurpose foldable travel camera with dual stretch focusing bellows. By the way, an accordion-like focusing device was first used in 1840 in a camera designed by Pierre Armand Seguier who filmed on a special 13×18cm roller film.

The camera was equipped with a ‘Rapid Rectilinear’ lens. The design of that lens was invented in 1860 by Hugo Steinhel in Germany (Aplanat) and John Dallmeier in Great Britain (Rapid Rektilinear) simultaneously. This type of lens, along with the Petzval portrait lens, was used until the early 20th century.
