In this watercolor, he depicted the arrival of the poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin in Orenburg. The first person Alexander Pushkin met in Orenburg was the Governor-General Vasily Alekseyevich Perovsky.
Pushkin traveled more than 2,300 kilometers from St. Petersburg to Orenburg. The poet stayed at the summer residence of Vasily Perovsky near the Sakmar Gate.
