Endova is a big low copper loving cup with ryl’tse (spout) covered with tin. It is used for keeping and drinking beer, mash, honey drink and their pouring into cups and glasses; in the old days drinks were served up in endovah at the feasts. Endova was in widespread use in private life till the end of the XVII^th century.

The vessels which had the name “yandova” were of different volumes. For example, there were entries in Kirillovskaya expenses book “to give somebody: yandova of honey kvass; the volume of that yandova was 10 bowls”, “yandova of molasses; the volume of that yandova was 2 bowls”.

Endovy were made of silver and copper: tulovo (the main part of the vessel) was decorated with embossed “spoons” and plant patterns, there were inscriptions on the venchik (on the upper part). Endova was used as tableware. On holidays housewives with endovami in their hands treated passersby to drinks near their houses.

Endova in Gorokhovets historical-architectural museum was deformed in several places, there were dents in the bottom of the tulovo and on the base. There were small shears on the edge of venchik and the base. To add to that, there were numerous scratches, callosities, loss of tinning. There were powder-like stains of the corrosion products of green, brown, whitish colors on the whole inner surface of the endova. All those things were background of the restoration of the museum exhibit.

After realizing restoration work the endova surface was cleaned, covered with special anticorrosive coating and conserved. The metal deformation was eliminated and the exhibit acquired an exposition appearance.
