The Vasnetsov Brothers Art Museum, named after Viktor and Apollinary Vasnetsov, is one of the richest art collections in Russia. The museum’s collection represents all periods and trends in Russian and European art, including more than 23 000 works.
In its resources there are thousands of genuine masterpieces of icons, painting, original and printed graphics, sculpture, decorative-applied and folk art. The Museum houses the permanent exhibition, which contains the following sections: “The Sky Paints with Holy Colors” (Old Russian and ecclesiastical art of 15th — early 20th centuries), Russian Art of 18th-19th centuries, Russian Art from the end of 19th — early 20th centuries, Dymkovo Toys of the 20th — early 21st century.
