The Volzhsk Art Gallery is located in a building constructed back in 1881. Today it is a historical and architectural monument.
The gallery’s collection consists of national artworks, graphics, decorative-applied art and sculpture, created within the period from the 1920s to the present day. There are many local artists’ works among them. The better part of the collection dates from the second half of the 20th century, but there are also items created in the 19th century. A large part thereof makes a collection of Soviet graphic arts from the 1950s to the 1990s.
The gallery’s modern arts and crafts include ceramics, tapestries, glass, porcelain, as well as folk art represented by Dymkovo and Filimonovo clay toys.
