I.Ya. Slovtsov Museum Complex — one of the largest museums in Siberia. It is named after its founder Ivan Slovtsov, born in Tyumen — archeologist, paleontologist, member of the Russian Geographical Society.
The museum was established in 1879, in 1945 it got the status of the regional museum of local history. Today the museum has archeological findings, old household items, old ritual artefacts, rare icons and collections of paintings of different countries and times.
I.Ya. Slovtsov Museum Complex includes premises for reserves, exhibition venues, a stage with an amphitheater and a library. There is also an Arts and Crafts Center at the museum.
