The Old Sarepta Historical, Ethnographical and Architectural Museum Reserve was founded in 1989.
The Old Sarepta Museum Reserve is a unique architectural ensemble that includes 26 buildings, 23 of which are federal monuments of the 18th — 19th centuries. The museum hosts permanent historical and ethnographic expositions, and changing exhibitions of artists, photographers, and masters of arts and crafts. It is the largest surviving architectural complex built by the settled Hernguters.
The museum has its own hotel and cafe with traditional Sarepta cuisine, as well as the largest German library in the region. The Sarepta church has the only organ in the region with a live sound without electronic support.
