Shebekino History and Art Museum was opened in 1986. The first exhibits of the collection were paintings. They were donated by Ivan and Raisa Vyrodovs, honorary citizens of the town of Shebekino, who collected items of Russian art.
Many Shebekino residents donated archival photographs, documents, and historical artifacts to the museum.
The museum’s exhibition consists of five halls, which showcase the main historical events in the region from ancient times to the present. The collection includes mammoth bones, stone axes, antique money, and paintings by famous Russian artists, as well as photographs and documents of famous residents. The museum collection includes 50 thousand exhibits.
