Promyshlennovsky District Museum of History and Regional Studies was founded on 28 January 1993, and soon became an important cultural center. It aims to help reconstruct and preserve memories of events from the region’s history. Local residents helped the museum collect a substantial archive of documents, photographs and every day objects.
Its collection includes items of cultural and spiritual significance, as well as natural history exhibits and archives of documents and photographs. There are several parts to the exhibition. One hall is dedicated to the history of the region, and another — to military accomplishments. In addition, there are exhibits showcasing the diversity of the natural world of the district and the entire Kuzbass, as well as an exposition of paintings by local artists. Annually, staff organize more than 100 exhibitions with items from the museum’s own collection as well as from travelling exhibitions.
