The National Gallery of the Komi Republic is the region’s only museum of fine arts. Founded in 1943, the museum houses over 10,000 paintings, statues, and works of graphic and applied art.
The gallery’s exhibition features the art of:
— Western European painters of the 17th–18th centuries;
— Russian painters of the 18th century — early 20th century;
— artists of the Komi Republic.
Since 1993, the National Gallery has been located in the building of a former religious school constructed in 1890.
