The Museum of the History of Tatar Statehood and the Republic of Tatarstan is located on the territory of the ‘Kazan Kremlin’, in the building of the former Palace Church. The Museum was opened in 2006.
The exhibit represents the key moments in the history of the formation of statehood, religion and traditions of the Tatar people. The collection of the Museum introduces the objects of material and spiritual culture of the inhabitants of Tatarstan and their ancestors. The exhibits include Turkic stone statues, Czech coin of the 10th century, stone shot, flags and coats of arms of the TASSR (Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic), as well as awards of the first President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and the Constitution of the Republic.
