“The Tkachyov Brothers Museum” is entirely dedicated to the work of USSR artists, Alexei and Sergei Tkachyov. It opened in 1995 as a branch of the Bryansk Oblast Art Museum. The exhibits have been redesigned every year with works donated by the Tkachyov brothers and residents of Bryansk Oblast.
Today, the collection amounts to more than 1000 works, including paintings, graphics, and a rich selection of sketches and studies prepared for paintings. The collection contains works that are considered to be classics of late 20th century Russian fine art.
The museum’s building was restored between 2006 and 2008. The museum now has a concert hall, a conference suite with multimedia equipment, rooms for temporary exhibitions, a research library and a workshop for restoration.
