Thanks to the efforts of the Rostov Region and Semikarakorsky District Administration, the Don Writers Organization, and the leadership of the Regional Museum of Local History, the Memorial House-Museum of the writer Vitaly Aleksandrovich Zakrutkin was opened in Kochetovskaya stanitsa in April 1986.
Almost 40 years have passed since then, yet interest in the museum, the writer’s personality, and his works remains strong. It was here that Zakrutkin created his most significant pieces, which are now recognized far beyond the Don region, including “Creation of the World”, “Floating Stanitsa”, “Mother of the Human”, “Along the Roads of the Great War”, “Sunflower”, and others.
The writer was a laureate of state prizes, a deputy
of the regional Council of People’s Deputies, a district and Kochetovskaya
village council.
