The Mariinsk History Museum situates in the two-stories stone building built at the beginning of the 20th century, which is considered an architectural monument of regional importance. Since 1902, the printing house owned by Leonty Preismann was located in this building. It was the first printing house in the Kuzbass Region. Before the Bolshevik revolution, the clockmaker and jewelry workshops were in the building.

The museum has several exhibitions: ‘Reclaiming of Mariinsk Suburbs’, ‘Moscow-Irkutsk Highway. The Road of Tears and Livelong Rush’, ‘Gold Fever’, ‘Merchants of Mariinsk. A Portrait in the Interior’, ‘Guest Room of Merchan’s House’, 'Hall of Military Glory', 'Repressions of the 1930s-1950s', 'Room of Pilot-Cosmonaut A.A. Leonov'.

There is a museum store on the first floor where you can buy the items of local craftsmen and manufacturers: souvenirs, birch bark, great willowherb, printing art, and various souvenirs.
