The Local History Museum of Kopeysk City District was established in 1967 with the participation of local historian Galyau Nasretdinov who became its first director. In 2007, the museum moved to a modern building, which significantly increased the exhibition space. Now, the Kopeysk Museum is a center for moral and patriotic education of children and the youth.
Museum employees have developed and successfully implemented the museum and pedagogical program ‘I Am a Kopesk Citizen’, as well as conduct competitions and quizzes for schoolchildren. In addition, the museum employees are engaged in research and study the archives where they find unique information about the history and development of the region. The museum hosts scientific and practical conferences and publishes local history literature.
