The Local History Museum named after N. I. Beregovaya in Spassk-Dalny collects, preserves, studies, and exhibits movable monuments of the history, culture, and art of the city and district. The total storage volume exceeds 18,000 units.
The museum has several exhibition halls: “Prehistoric Past of the Spassky Land, ” “Room of the First Settlers, ” “Nature of Primorye, ” “Spassk Residents in Defense of the Motherland.” The hall “History of the City’s Foundation” includes the following exhibitions: “Stormy Nights of Spassk: Legend and Reality, ” “Guide to Spassk-Primorskiy, ” “Spassk — Flagship of the Construction Industry of the Far East, ” and “Room of a Cement Plant Worker.”
There are two exhibition halls for temporary exhibitions and cultural and educational events.
Every year, the museum holds up to 30 exhibitions, both its own and
guest ones, including traveling exhibitions, more than 1,500 guided tours, and
350 cultural and educational events and lectures. The museum is visited by more
than 20,000 people each year.
