Iskitim State Museum of Arts and History

The Iskitim State Museum of Arts and History is located in the town of Iskitim in the Novosibirsk Region.

The museum was opened on November 4, 1977. Its collection was formed over several decades. It includes household items of Siberian peasants from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, rare icons donated by the descendants of the famous noble family of the Yesipovs, and paintings by Siberian artists. Nowadays, the museum houses over 20,000 exhibits distributed across 26 collections that are dedicated to numismatics, graphics and icons, photographs, books, and other items. The museum features 13 permanent exhibitions, one of which is dedicated to the art of the famous film director, actor, and writer Vasily Makarovich Shukshin.
