The museum opened in Yekaterinburg on April 9, 2013 on the occasion of the sculptor’s 88th anniversary. The exposition is located in the center of the city, at 14 Dobrolyubova Ul., in a historical building of the late 19th century that is known as the House of U.O. Petelina. The museum is a structural subdivision of the Sverdlovsk Oblast state autonomous institution of culture O.E. Kler Sverdlovsk Regional Ethnography Museum.
