S.A. Esenin State Memorial Museum Preserve is situated in the village of Konstantinovo, where the poet was born. The interior that existed during Sergei Yesenin’s life has been restored in the house. The poet’s sisters Alexandra and Ekaterina, who preserved his books, furniture, and personal effects, took care of that.
Furthermore, the State Literature Museum donated numerous valuable items: a rare portrait of the poet, first editions of his books, and posters from the 1920s. Currently, the museum includes an entire compound of historic buildings: the estate of the poet’s parents, the Church of Our Lady of Kazan, the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, the House of the Priest Ioann Smirnov, Konstantinovo Zemstvo School (‘Zemskaya Shkola’), the estate of the last Konstantinovo landlady Lidiya Kashina, and Spas-Klepiki Second-Class Teaching School. Unique nature that inspired Esenin throughout his life serves as an essential part of the museum complex.
