Gorodets History and Art Museum Complex is located in the Nizhny Novgorod region. It was established in 2005.
Today the Gorodets History and Art Museum Complex includes the Gorodets Museum of Local History, which is considered one of the oldest regional museums in the region and has been open since 1918, the art gallery ‘Rural Tretyakovka’, the museums ‘Gorodets Pryanik’, ‘The House of Countess Panina’ and ‘The Estate of merchant Malekhonov’.
The collection of the museum complex contains items of merchant life, weapons, manuscripts, early printed books, icons, and handicrafts. In total, there are about 15,600 items in the main fund.
Since 1991, the Gorodets History and Art Museum Complex has also hosted the all-Russian conference ‘Gorodets readings’.
