The House-Museum of the People’s Artist of the USSR Vladimir Igoshev in Khanty-Mansiysk was founded on October 28th, 2001 on the day of the artist’s 80th birthday. Its collection consists of the paintings by V. Igoshev, which reflected the beauty of Siberia, its history, culture and original characters of people inhabiting Yugra.
The project of V. A. Igoshev’s House-Museum was created by an architect Eugene Ingema. The People’s Artist of Russia Sergey Goryaev was the museum’s interior designer and construction manager. On his recommendation the museum’s building got its features of the Russian Art Nouveau architecture of the early 20th century.
In addition to the exhibition halls, the House-Museum also has the painter’s studio, the artist’s memorial apartment and a fireplace lounge, where the musical and literary evenings are organized.
