The Borisoglebsk History and Art Museum was founded on February 18th, 1913.
The Sholokhov Art Gallery was opened in May, 2001. It occupied The House of merchant Polyakov, the stand-alone building of the early 20th century. The works of artists, whose life and art were connected with Borisoglebsk, made the basis of the general gallery exposition. Among them are works by A. Ryabushkin, A. Kuprin, I. Mashkov and others.
Expositions The Archeology of Voronezh Prihoperye, The Mercantile Borisoglebsk in the late 19th — early 20th century, The Siberian Passage were shown at the R. Weise’s Pharmacy, the mansion of the late 19th century. In 2014 the same-name project won the 11th grants competition of the Vladimir Potanin Philantropic Foundation A Changing Museum in a Changing World.
