The exhibition tells about the creative path of Fyodor Tyutchev, his life and environment. The poet was born in Ovstug in 1803. He spent his childhood there and regularly visited the estate as an adult.
The first museum exhibition dedicated to Tyutchev opened in 1957 in the building of a rural school. Then it was transferred to the reconstructed manor house, where the museum was established in 1986.
Now its collection includes several thousand authentic exhibits. Among them is the grand piano produced by the German company Welenius, which used to belong to Tyutchev’s teacher Semyon Raich, a family album with 18 photographs preserved by Maria Birilyova, the poet’s daughter, the documents of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Tyutchev had written, the portraits of his family members and much more.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
