The Oryol Military History Museum houses a number of exhibitions and art complexes, as well as rare collections. The exhibits include examples of weapons and military ammunition of a medieval warrior, military uniforms and weapons of the 18th–20th centuries.
Fine art is also presented, in particular, the portrait of the “first Russian soldier” of Peter the Great, Sergey Bukhvostov, a native of the Oryol region, and graphic works that depicted the region after it was liberated in 1943. Documents and photographs related to the events of the Russo-Japanese War, the First World War and the Russian Civil War occupy a significant place in the exhibition.
The museum displays
military equipment: a mountain cannon, howitzers, and a Maxim machine gun. The
museum houses materials about the service of the natives of the Oryol region in
Afghanistan, China, Korea, Hungary, Yemen, Cuba, Vietnam, Egypt, Syria, Angola
and other countries.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
