The exhibition is dedicated to the artistic journey of the great writer. Out of more than half a million exhibits, the most valuable were selected from the collection of the Leo Tolstoy State Museum. The museum houses paintings, graphic art, sculptures, books and magazines connected with Leo Tolstoy’s life.
The literary exposition of the museum presents Leo Tolstoy’s manuscripts, many lifetime editions of his works, busts and portraits of the writer created in the 19th–21st centuries. Along with illustrations for Tolstoy’s works made by Russian and Soviet artists, there are authentic photographs of the author, his family members, friends, like-minded people and fellow writers, as well as things, furniture and household items of the Tolstoy era. The exhibition paints a comprehensive picture of the life and artistic journey of the great Russian writer.
