The collection of the Khanty-Mansiysk State Museum of Fine Arts is called ‘the northern Tretyakov Gallery’: the Museum possesses one of the largest regional collections of icons and paintings, graphic art and sculpture. The exhibition ‘Russian Art of the XV-XX Centuries’ presents items of ancient Russian art — icons, parts of iconostases from ancient cathedrals, rare cast copper images, as well as paintings and graphic art of the XIX-XX centuries.
The exhibits include original works of academician Karl Brullov, unknown sketches of Itinerant Victor Vasnetsov, a study by Konstanin Makovsky, an elegant portrait by Leon Bakst, member of ‘The World of Art’ association and many others.
