The exhibition ‘Journey Through the Centuries’ is dedicated to the history of Karelia — from the Stone Age to the present day. The collection includes the materials of archaeological research: tools from the most ancient camp in Karelia, cult items and amulets from the burials of the famous Oleneostrovsky burial ground, as well as rare artifacts — granite slabs with petroglyphs. In addition, the visitors can see medieval weapons and household items of the indigenous peoples of the republic — Karelians and Veps. A part of the exhibition tells about the construction of Peter the Great’s Armories. There is a mortar, a scale model of a blast furnace and a wagon of Russia’s first railroad among the exhibits.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
