Nature and Ethnography of Native Country is a permanent exposition of the museum Legends of Grey Irtysh. It acquaints visitors with the history of the Uvat district, tells about its rich flora and fauna, indigenous inhabitants of this land, their crafts and traditional household items.
A bear ruining the Khanty’s shed, an elk hiding in a lake from nagging gnats, a hunter in clothes that are common for northern peoples — these and other scenes are recreated against the background of a photo panorama. Animals living in Siberian forests and in local water bodies can not only be seen, but also heard: the museum exposition is accompanied by audio recordings of the sounds of nature.
