The permanent exhibition ‘Russian Art of the 17th — early 20th centuries’ of the Rostov Regional Museum of Fine Arts is housed in an old mansion with stucco molding on Pushkinskaya, 115. There you can see the best paintings and icons from the collection of Russian art.
The exhibition includes the painting ‘Peter the Apostle’ by Karl Bryullov, a collection of chamber and ceremonial portraits by Ilya Repin, Konstantin Makovsky, Franz Krüger and others, the seascapes by Lev Lagorio and Ivan Aivazovsky, as well as a rare signed icon ‘The King of Kings’.
The exhibition is arranged in chronological order — from the Russian icon painting of the 17th century to the art of the early 20th century.
