The permanent exposition of the Novokuznetsk Museum of Local History covers the history of the Kuznetsk land from ancient times to the present day. It displays the main rarities of the museum: decorations of the Fominsk culture and the southern Shors’ working tool; old photographs of famous Kuznetsk residents and authentic models of buildings of past centuries; as well as paintings, lithographs and documents that captured the most important stages of development of the city and the region.
Visitors to the exhibition will find out in which part of Kuznetsk Fyodor Dostoevsky lived and what happened to the city’s first cinema theatre, what animal was depicted on the city’s first seal and which famous 19th-century merchant became rich illegally, what relic Peter I left in Kuznetsk and how the city defended Russia from South Siberian nomads.
