The Museum of the History of Orthodoxy in Siberia is located in the Bishop’s House — a example of the 18th-century palace architecture, the residence of Tobolsk archbishops and metropolitans. The exhibition occupies the ground floor of the building. It introduces guests to the history of the Tobolsk diocese and the work of missionary priests who preached Christianity among indigenous peoples.
At the museum, you can see ancient icons and body crosses, portable iconostases for road churches, wooden sculptures of Christ, the Mother of God and saints. The exhibition also includes details of priests' vestments and precious church items: icon covers, communion cups with gilding and engraving, gold-embroidered veils and gonfalons.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
