The Tarusa Art Gallery permanent exposition was based on the collection of the agronomist Nikolai Rakitsky. The gallery displays samples of Russian and Western European painting, porcelain, decorative and applied art.
Numerous items of sculpture and graphics were personally handed over by the artist, sculptor-animalist Vasily Vatagin. The collection of contemporary art is being actively replenished thanks to the gallery’s active exhibition initiatives, which also allows the artists to donate their works.
