#2
The exposition The Best of the Serpukhov Museum Collection is dedicated to the works of art of West European painters of the 17th — 18th centuries and Russian painters of the 19th century

It introduces visitors to the works of the participants of the Association of Itinerant Art Exhibitions, such as Viktor Vasnetsov, Nikolai Yaroshenko, Alexei Savrasov, Illarion Pryanishnikov, Vladimir and Konstantin Makovsky. It acquaints the audience with the canvases of outstanding Russian marinists Ivan Aivazovsky and Alexey Bogolyubov.

The WestEuropean part of the display shows paintings by Italian, Dutch, French, German and Danish artists, including canvases by Rembrandt’s pupils — Eberhard Kale, Jan Janssens and Jan Victors. Works by some artists, such as Nicholas Cave, included in the exhibition, are unique in Russia.

Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
