The permanent exhibition of the Chuvash State Art Museum consists of the best Chuvash paintings.
The exhibition consists of three sections. The section called “Search for Images” (the halls located in the north part) reflects the unique trends that were characteristic of the Chuvash painting in the 1920s–1960s, the inextricable connection between them and Russian fine arts, as well as the search for the national coloring in the works of the founders of Chuvash professional painting.
The section “New Mythology” (the halls in the eastern part) reflects how the style of socialist realism developed in the works of the older generation of Chuvash artists.
The section “New Symbolism” (the halls in the south part) represents the way Chuvash art developed in the second half of the 20th century.
